Physicians Refer a Patient

Referral Process: Central Intake Model

The orthopaedic surgeons at Richmond Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine are committed to improving patient access and to decreasing consultation wait times for both surgical and non-surgical patients.

Patient referrals can be directed to the “First Available Physician”, where the patient will be centrally triaged to see the most appropriate orthopaedic surgeon for the patient’s condition. Alternatively, the patient and their referring provider can choose which orthopaedic surgeon they would like to see and will be placed on that specialist’s consultation wait list.
